Expert Witness
Experienced Chemical Process & Phenomena Expert Witness, knowledgeable of the litigation process. Can provide assistance with discovery requests, claims construction, deposition preparation, and other phases of IP litigation, including patent infringement and/or validity, trade secret theft, inter partes review (IPR, and post grant review (PGR). Testified at over a dozen trials/arbitrations and has offered deposition testimony on over thirty occasions.
Technical Consultant
Process Design, Analysis, & Simulation with expertise with Aspen Plus(R) and other simulators. Background in process economic evaluation (capital and operating cost estimations and cash flow analysis) and accountancy. Experience with a wide range of commercial processes and systems, including safety and environmental regulatory requirements. Rockstraw has rented lab space at locations that include major academic institutions to perform weeks of experimental data collection to support clients’ needs in litigations or process development.
Forensic Analyst
Skilled at use of material and energy balance concepts to provide forensic analysis of process data to account for yield losses, product contaminations, or understand conditions leading to process failures, explosions, or fires. Valuable in cases involving contractual disputes over use of natural resources, utilization of raw materials, or source of product contamination. In one matter, Rockstraw was able to extract evidence of technology theft from over four years of DCS process data of a chemical process facility (nearly 1/4 of a billion data points).
